A zine (pronounced ‘zeeen’, like the end of magazine), is a reproducible self-published booklet, often incorporating ready-made text, images and other media.
In this workshop, zine-makers will explore visual techniques including collage, to express their takes on Bermudian Artists and their work; sharing individual experiences, ideas, creativity and knowledge along the way. The workshop will run in two parts, 10:00 – 12:00pm and 1:00pm – 3:00pm with a lunch break in between

Materials: All necessary art supplies provided but participants are welcome to bring any collage materials they want to use
Alia Hamza (she/her) is a Bermudian multidisciplinary visual artist and photographer, currently based at Resort Studios in Margate, UK. Her personal practice centres around art as a medium for healing and social change. As an artist facilitator with Margate-based community organisation ‘People Dem Collective’, Alia works with groups ranging from primary school children to second year medical students, providing creative workshops which explore socially conscious and educational material through the process of zine making.
