Opening to the public Saturday, February 6th, 2021 is Masterworks Founder and Director Tom Butterfields final show “ONCE UPON AN OCEAN”. Tom selected several pieces from the permanent collection to build an exhibit focused around the idea of ‘Building a Bermudian identity through art’. Tom explains the show in his own words …
“ONCE UPON AN OCEAN”, said fast enough, becomes once upon a notion! – by the way, it tells the same story – to explore all possibilities of the Muse of our island. Starting with the connections that made the idea possible, to topics such as choppy waters, the objections to the idea, pairings, how artists work to a final, artificial flowers, images of flowers!, Architecturally ours, Bermuda’s unique architecture, photography, self-evident, and We The People – those of us – a potpourri of portraiture. As this is my last exhibit – proud am I for securing such a wide range of topics.
“ONCE UPON AN OCEAN” will be exhibited from February 6th – September 2021.
