Join us for an Artist Talk on Thursday, December 5 with Alex Allardyce!
Alex’s exhibition, “Balustrade Cavalcade,” opening November 29, will showcase a series of new reduction linocut prints inspired by Victorian “gingerbread” fretwork balustrades, a disappearing architectural element of older Bermuda buildings.
“Balustrade Cavalcade” will be available to view from November 29 – December 28.
The Artist Talk will be on Thursday, Dec. 5 from 5:30 – 7pm in the Rick Faries Gallery.
About the Artist:
Alex was born in Scotland in 1957 and studied art and architecture at the Glasgow School of Art and Edinburgh College of Art. Enjoying painting for as long as he can remember, Alex won his first award at the age of 16.
Now living in Bermuda, he finds inspiration through the colours and forms of buildings, and Bermuda’s particular light, which is also reflected in the subject matter of this exhibition.
This Artist Talk is brought to you by BEHIND THE PALETTE, Masterworks’ initiative to materially support artists with opportunities to learn, connect, and create with other artists.
