Join exhibiting artist Meg Walters for this 2-part workshop to explore the diverse and experimental properties of clay. Part 1 will be led by Meg Walters and focus on hand-building techniques, incorporating a versatile paper clay. You will discover different ways to sculpt, build and model this dynamic clay, applying stains, underglaze and slip. Part 2 will be led by Blair Raughley Masters and focus on how to apply glaze from a painterly perspective, learning techniques to achieve different organic results. If you’re interested in finding more freedom in your practice, and expanding your knowledge on sculptural hand-building or application of glaze, this course is for you.
This 2-part workshop is offered in connection with Palimpsest, the exhibition on view in the Rick Faries Gallery May 1 – Jun 27, 2026.
