Join Artist and facilitator ABWilson and find a fresh perspective on the world around you!  You’ll be encouraged to slow down\, observe\, and capture the beauty in everyday moments. \nYou will learn techniques to quiet the mind\, develop visual perception\, and translate a newfound awareness into intentional photographs. DESCRIPTION:Calling all teens! Are you passionate about the arts? Dive into the captivating world of art history and practice with Masterworks’ exclusive short courses tailored just for you. \nJoin us this summer for an unforgettable journey through the rich tapestry of Bermuda art. \nMeeting on Thursdays\, we will take you on a month-long artistic journey in the company of Isabel McLaughlin\, Georgia O’Keeffe\, E. Ambrose Webster\, Karen Kulyk\, Winslow Homer and more. Connecting art history discussions\, tours\, field trips\, and art practice\, you’ll get a behind the scenes look at museum and gallery spaces\, and explore painting and drawing techniques throughout history. \nLed by Dr. Sara Thom\, Curatorial Researcher\, each session will begin with insightful discussions on topics ranging from the depiction of place to the use of color in art. \nBuilding on the historical context\, Art Teacher Kimberley Fisher will guide you through related art practices\, from observational sketching to plein air painting. \nTime: 10am – 3pm (with lunch from 12-1pm) \nDates: Wednesdays: July 3 – 24\, 2024 \nClass Size: Maximum of 10 participants to ensure individualized attention and a supportive environment. \nLocation: Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art\, Members Lounge\, Butterfield Gallery\, Permanent Collection Vault\, and wider Botanical Gardens \nField Trips: We will make a field trip to explore a few of Homer’s vantage points in Warwick and Pembroke. \nMaterials: All necessary art supplies provided. \nWeek 1: Looking Out\, and In\nExplore historical and contemporary takes on sense of place in Bermuda art. How do visiting artists’ perspectives differ from local artists’ perspectives of place? \nWeek 2: Finding Form\nDiscover form as profoundly as Modernist painters\, Isabel McLaughlin and Georgia O’Keeffe. \nWeek 3: Seeing Color\nStudy the use of color featuring the works of E.
