SUMMARY:Story Time at the Museum
DESCRIPTION:Story Time at the Museum invites little readers and their grown-ups to get comfy\, open a book and listen to a story together. In partnership with the Youth Library\, we’re bringing story time into the gallery\, where books and artworks spark curiosity\, questions and new ways of seeing. SUMMARY:All-Ages Workshop: Planting Onions with The AgraLiving Institute
DESCRIPTION:Step into the garden for an interactive experience that brings Bermuda’s agricultural history to life through the story of its iconic onion. Explore how onions became central to Bermuda’s farming identity\, tracing their origins to seeds brought from Europe during British colonial expansion. Through a social justice lens\, we’ll unpack how this “Golden Age of Agriculture” relied on the importation of over 3\,000 laborers\, while simultaneously displacing newly emancipated Black Bermudian farmers and excluding them from the prosperity of the land. \nParticipants will engage directly with the soil\, learning how to sow onion seeds and transplant seedlings\, connecting past to present through hands-on practice. As storytelling and action come together\, this experience creates space for healing\, both through learning our shared history and through the grounding act of working with the soil\, while fostering reflection on resilience\, inequity and the enduring relationship between people and land in Bermuda. \nThis workshop is offered in association with An(Other) World\, on view in the Butterfield Gallery September 25\, 2026 – March 20\, 2027.  Admission to Masterworks is free on the Second Saturday of each month so be sure to visit the exhibitions on view after the workshop. \nDate: Saturday\, November 14\, 2026 \nTime: 10am-12pm \nFacilitator: Chris Faria\, Founder and Managing Director of The AgraLiving Institute\nChris has been working in Bermuda’s horticultural industry since 2006\, with experience spanning plant nurseries\, commercial farming\, and now his own gardening education and consultation business. Since 2016\, he has focused on sustainable farming practices and is a certified teacher dedicated to sharing this knowledge with others. Chris is also a certified laboratory technician through Dr. Elaine Ingham’s Soil Food Web School and is currently advancing his expertise through their consultation training program. \nRecognised as a Tradition Bearer by Bermuda’s Department of Culture\, Chris is deeply committed to preserving and sharing the island’s agricultural heritage. DESCRIPTION:Join us for Curated Conversations with OYANGO: An(Other) World\, an engaging dialogue with artist collective OYANGO\, comprised of creative and life partners Liana and Ajala Nanang Omodele. \nAs jalalu (Memory Keepers)\, OYANGO’s literary and visual practice honours their Ancestors\, the guiding Orishas Oya and Sango\, and the legacy of their storytelling forebears. SUMMARY:Ceramics Studio December Membership 10am-1pm
DESCRIPTION:Ceramics Studio is an open studio space for ceramicists to meet up and access equipment to throw\, sculpt and create at their own pace. This space is open to people who have taken Wheel Throwing or Hand Building with Blair Masters or can prove similar experience. While studio members are encouraged to guide and support each other\, creative independence is required. \nRun by a community of ceramicists\, the Ceramics Studio is open from 10am-1pm each Thursday. \nHere’s how it works:\n– 9 potter’s wheels are available.\n– 3 spaces at a hand-building table are available.\n– 12 memberships are available for each month.\n– The potter’s wheels are available on a first-come\, first serve basis. Members may be able to share potter’s wheel access as agreed between them.\n– Members should have their own hand tools.  Toolkits can be purchased for $20 per pack. \nMembership registration process:\n– Ceramics Studio membership is offered on a monthly basis.\n– Registration for each month’s studio membership will open on the 21st of the month before. For example\, August Membership registration will open on July 21st.\n– If members have ready-to-fire pieces at the end of their membership\, their pieces will still be fired in the next scheduled firing. \nStudio guidelines:\n– We are a mid-fire studio; only clay from Masterworks’ inventory is permitted in the studio.\n– Members can purchase studio clay from our inventory for $50 per 25lb bag.\n– Only glazes in Masterworks’ inventory are permitted in the studio\n– Studio storage is limited. DESCRIPTION:Ceramics Studio is an open studio space for ceramicists to meet up and access equipment to throw\, sculpt and create at their own pace. This space is open to people who have taken Wheel Throwing or Hand Building with Blair Masters or can prove similar experience. While studio members are encouraged to guide and support each other\, creative independence is required. \nRun by a community of ceramicists\, the Ceramics Studio is open from 5-8pm each Thursday. \nHere’s how it works:\n– 9 potter’s wheels are available.\n– 3 spaces at a hand-building table are available.\n– 12 memberships are available for each month.\n– The potter’s wheels are available on a first-come\, first serve basis. Members may be able to share potter’s wheel access as agreed between them.\n– Firings are charged at $1 per lb of greenware and bisqueware\n– Members weigh and record the weight of each piece on a slip of paper and attach to their piece.\n– Members should have their own hand tools.  Toolkits can be purchased for $20 per pack. \nMembership registration process:\n– Ceramics Studio membership is offered on a monthly basis.\n– Registration for each month’s studio membership will open on the 21st of the month before. For example\, August Membership registration will open on July 21st.\n– If members have ready-to-fire pieces at the end of their membership\, their pieces will still be fired in the next scheduled firing. \nStudio guidelines:\n– We are a mid-fire studio; only clay from Masterworks’ inventory is permitted in the studio.\n– Members can purchase studio clay from our inventory for $50 per 25lb bag.\n– Only glazes in Masterworks’ inventory are permitted in the studio\n– Studio storage is limited. DESCRIPTION:The Peril of the Blue Dot | December 10 – January 23 \nJohn Gardner’s exhibition will present a modern secular interpretation of Hieronymus Bosch’s ‘The Garden of Earthly Delights’ also known as ‘The Garden of Lusts’. \nArtist Bio\nMr Gardner is a multi-disciplinary Artist and Architect who has maintained a low profile as a visual artist. He was mentioned in the most recent Charmin Prize for “The Snowball Shack”. He has primarily exhibited a broad range of works in various Bermuda Biennials including ‘After the Party’ 2010\, which installed 100 Bermuda Stone Birthday Cakes in the Bermuda National Gallery and ‘The Triangle’ 2014 installation\, which acknowledged the 50th Anniversary of the publication that coined the term. The installation was recognised by The New York Times. It also jump-started Bermuda embracing the Bermuda Triangle as being Bermuda’s most internationally recognised association.  In 2018\, he redesigned Albuoy’s Point Park in Hamilton as The Bermuda Triangle Park for The Corporation of Hamilton.  He is followed internationally\, including through a TEDx Bermuda presentation\, ‘Painting on Planes\, ‘ documenting his multi-year project of painting while flying.
